 Swallows are not as frequent as we think, those we often see are the "martins", who have a completely white chest and make a nest, working the mud, just under the roofs, almost outdoors ... father, admiring together those swallows who, on the other hand, had made their nest indoors, under our porch and every year returned from distant Africa, keeping faith with the promise of life agreed with Nature, the Great Mother, firmly handing down that promise from generation to generation. After dinner, I ran to lie down on the lawn in front of the house to enchant myself with their wings, their noise, their energetic flight that filled the sky. I realized only later that they appeared to me then as the perfect balance between change and constancy, between freedom and commitment, between home and travel, between going back and forth.
